The History of al-doha village

The name of Al-Doha Village was mentioned in the book called the Classes or the Layers (Al-Tabaqat) authored by Mohammed al-Nur Bin Daifallah (1727 - 1810) known as Wad Daifallah’s Layers. The Book (Classes) translates for Sufi men , some of the kings, chieftains, judges, and poets of the Funj state that ruled Sudan in the period from (1504-1820 AD), the book is divided into three parts, the first section represents the writer’s observations , the second part described briefly the emergence of the Funj Kingdom and highlighted on some of its scholars and religious Sheikhs, and the third part of the book contains two hundred and seventy translations, varying in length and depth and limited by the information that was available in regard to the persons concerned. Al-Doha has been named in the book of layers in the chapter of the elders under Sheikh Banaga Fadhli Al-Wathiqi the unsighted who died in a bushy area, and his grave is visible and apparently visited by his disciples in Al-Doha and its surroundings. He said that Al-Doha is situated in the red land of Al-Yaagoubab. Quoted from the book (The Classes), authored by Wad Daifallah (1727 - 1810) Page 13.
